Aphex Twin Big Day Out Melbourne

Hi All,
Saw the man yesterday along with Luke Vibert at Melbourne Big
Day Out (26/1/2004). Richard used a Sony Vaio, Luke used an Apple Laptop.
The set was one and a half hours of noise and heavy beats, finishing in a
wall of noise interspersed with majorly looped beats.

Give you a better report on tonights Prince Of Wales gig, not suffering from
dehydration and dizzyness

i caught their show in Sydney at the Metro. i have to say i was
slightly disappointed by Aphex's set. what we got was a slightly
danceable set of other people's music mixed though something like
traktor from his laptop. it was enjoyable to hear music from Technical
Itch and Krome & Time et al. on a cranking system, along with a bit of
hellish jungle and gabba. however, i can hear the same or similiar
things for free, rather than the 50 i shelled out for. having said all
of this, i still am glad i caught the show. if you want to hear Aphex
songs, catch the end of Vibert's set, he played more Aphex songs than
Aphex did.
