The watch is Tag Heuer Formula 1 Kirium. It actually looks very good. I am tempted.

That is a fantastic looking watch as worn by David Coulthard but I am not
sure I want to spend $1,100 for quartz...

Did David Coulthard wear the watch out of choice, or was it 'product
placement' as part of the sponsorship by Tag Heuer??

It was most likely product placement, as was the case in XXX ( Samuel L.
Jackson) and The Bourne Identity (Matt Damon). Both films featured Tag Heuer
watches to some degree. I haven't been able to rent XXX yet due to high
demand for the DVD, but I saw The Bourne Identity in the theatre & couldn't
count how many times his quartz chronograph appeared - rather blatantly. I
guess watch companies must pay beaucoup buckage to have their products used
in films.

Well, it's not like they spend the money making good watches anyway..

Not just watch companies, but any product featured prominently in a film
these days is probably a paid placement.

Does anyone know what kind of watch Bridget Moynihan (Layla) is
wearing in the movie The Recruit?

I'm not sure about Bridget, but I've been seeing a lot of ads by
Tutima claiming to be the watches worn by Al Pacino and Colin Farrell.
I believe Al wears the Military Air Force Chronograph TL and Colin
wears the Classic Flieger Chronograph... both pretty cool looking
pieces IMHO...

Well, the only watch I saw in that movie was a TAG Heuer. If Tutima
spent money on product placement, it was all wasted if someone
interested in watches couldn't even tell what kind of watch it was.

I'm pretty anxious to check out the film, myself. It definitely would
be bad for Tutima if they blew it with product placement, but this
would be a bit refreshing, though, after some films that insult with
obvious and over-the-top usage. I just saw Lost in Space again (ack!)
and the Silicon Graphics placement was pretty obnoxious. The point is
to be recognized at least once, though.

I think Timezone is still running ads for Tutima in The Recruit on
their site.

He asked about the watch worn by Bridget, not the other characters.
