Hi All
I am having trouble with a new installation of Wordperfect Suite 8. When
an ordinary user tries to launch WP8, it throws a dialog box with the text
"Could not initialize", then Dr Watson reports WPWIN8.exe Exception access
violation (0xc0000005) Address 0x004ff735.
If I log in with and administrative account, WP runs just fine.

I tried reinstalling Suite 8, but I got the same error everytime.

I got it fixed - the trouble was I had implemented registry security in
Windows NT 4.0 (using the C2 program in the resource kit). When I installed
Suite 8, it did not give users any access to read or update the registry
keys. I edited the registry using Regedt32.exe (backup your registry BEFORE
fiddling with it), opened the key hkey_local_machine/Software/Corel and gave
Domain users full control of the corel key and all subkeys. This let WP8
open up and run.

Thought I'd let everyone know what the fix was - MAYBE Corel will test this
fix and put it in the knowledge base.
