I am sorry to inform this group that I am leaving Manilla tomorrow,
without any sign of improvement in my original symptom, pain in the
perineum. The doctor is confident, that if I could stay indefinitely, he
would eventually resolve the problem. However, as a university professor
I have responsibility towards my students, who rely on the fall course to
be offered. I have to be back. Also, the lack of any incremental change
in my symptoms during the cure, and the clinical response defying the
bell curve doctrine and lacking explanation with which I could be
satisfied, makes me doubt the positive prognosis in my case. My treatment
spanned 46 days and consisted of 23 drainages. Following are the upper
values of WBC count. There is a good chance that my prostate, always
quite flat, is not receiving sufficient drainage. Occasional drainage of
(5) forgotten acini could explain the spikes. Then there is possibility
that something else than bacteria or fungus, for which I already took
doses of pharmaceuticals (toxic compounds packaged for human
consumption), is growing inside me. Perhaps rodenticides of herbicides
might be useful.
My count, in order of drainages, goes as follows:
4, 15, 20, >60, 25, 10, 10, 15, >60, 40, 20, >60, 30, 8?, 20, 20,
30, >60, 20, 30, 20, 20, >60.
It is probably not surprising that I have not responded (yet) to the
treatment. Actually, the number of men who, while returning home, did not
consider themselves cured, is higher that the number of those, who did.
It was this ratio, discovered by some of us here in Manila in July, that
has lead eventually to the introduction of the four-months rule. I feel a
bit cheated here, because the rule was not posted until my departure;
however, it is retroactive. I wonder whether I should file on the 1040
Schedule A my Manila costs as medical expenses or a gambling loss.
There is lot of important information contained in the charts of
patients who are not responding well. I see the future strength of this
newsgroup in its ability to assimilate productively the problematic
results and use them to seek the most satisfying procedure.
I will be leaving Manila tomorrow, with high count of white blood
cells. Therefore, I am not declared cured and I am leaving against the
recommendation of the physician. I intend to take recommended
medications, drain and stain, and will be consulting with Dr. Feliciano
via e-mail. But clearly, it will not be the true protocol anymore.
Therefore, the future outcome of my cure can have only advisory value in
judging the results of the Manila treatment.
I will report back to this group only if there is any improvement in
my symptoms.

Thanks, Petr, and don't give up. Apparently you are only partly through
the protocol. You may be a stubborn case, but that does not imply that
you must be a hopeless case. I'm in my "waiting period." This is my 5th
day after stopping drainages, and I think that I see a little improvement
in my pain today (for the first time since stopping). Little ups and
downs, however, have been commonplace over the 31 years that I have had
prostatitis, so it is not yet clear whether or not my symptoms will be
relieved.

Petr,
Please keep us informed on your progess.

You met my husband, Rick, over in Manila. He has improved in
symptoms, but is not pain free yet.

Please keep up the treatdment. I don't know your case history, but it
sounds like your case may be harder to eradicate than others, but
doesn't mean you should give up hope.

John Garth has had luck here.

Good luck to you, please keep in touch.

Regards,
Brenda

It would be harder than the others, if only mine was the one that
was not respondig. To reflect more exactly the prevailing state of
treatment, my case is likely just as hard to cure as many others.
