Can anybody tell me why it is that when I RECORD MACRO tit does not pick up
on Save As HTML at all.

I was recording with a view to seeing what the code for this is but it
doesn't show up in the recorded MACRO and also, if I rerun the MACR it
doesn't execute the Save As HTML command.

Anybosy know how to code this?

Regards

John

This is really only half an answer, but the 'SaveAs HTML' functionality in
XL97 (I presume that's what you have), was provided by add-in. (Not a very
good one at that). This is why it doesn't record. I've had little to do
with HTML, so can't help you with the coding, but would tell you, if this is
important to you, that XL2000 handles all aspects of web-authoring, HTML,
etc, much, much, much better than 97. The only drawback in 2000 though, is
that most of the 'neat' features can only be shown using IE5, but as that's
free, it shouldn't be too big a drawback.

Here is some additional info which should get you started.

http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/downloadDetails/html.htm
Internet Assistant Wizard Update for Excel
when loaded, this provides the ability to export to html in Excel 97. That
capability was introduced with SR1, so I don't know if this will work with
the original XL97 or not. XL2000 has a saveas option for html.
This download has sample files and documentation on programmatically saving
as HTML.
