*g* Nice :)
Personally the game I'm involved in would be something like:
Every time an alien mispronounces the word 'human', take a drink.
Every time a PC reveals his 'secret' weapon hidden onboard his ship,
take a drink.
Every time somebody BADLY attempts to do somebody with mental problems,
take two drinks.
When I actually get a story together that is good and turns all the
PC's into a proper-party, finish the bottle.
When the Nolzarian Crafters start to look physically more attractive
then all of the PCs, you've drunk way too much, proceed to the bathroom
for waste extraction.

Invisibility helped me avoid a lot of damage in that game, though it
didn't quite make sense. In a room filled with bad guys, I cast the spell
and killed them one at a time. So there I was, shooting all over the place
and none of them thought to try to shoot at, for example, where I
dissapeared, or where the shots were coming from; I bet they could at
least HEAR me shooting, but they fired not a shot.
Also, in the actual roleplaying game, enhancing your body with cybernetics
weakened your magic power. In the video game, you can get dermal plating,
wired reflexes, and so on, and still cast full power spells...go figure.

Say, do you still frequent Alt Games Final Fantasy RPG? I used to lurk
there, but
*Warning, incoming rant*
I stopped when it felt like the purpose of the group was to denounce the
new games and praise the old ones. Not that the old Final Fantasies were
in any way bad, but I got the impression that some of those people did
their level best not to enjoy the Playstation Final Fantasies so that they
can sound intelligent by pointing out the flaws and ignoring the good
points of what are probably good games. Me, I try to keep an open mind.
There are still games I don't like, but I try not to pick at straws. *end

Yeah, the AI was somewhat laughable, that's for sure. You cast invisibility
and they stop shooting, even if you don't move AT ALL. Wouldn't you think
that at least ONE of them should be smart enough to realize that when their
group is getting picked off one by one, the best answer is NOT to just sorta
sit there with a vacant look on your face?

Like that would have helped. The game operates entirely on a "Easier said
than done" basis. The guide would probably just say "Pick up the Baretta
Pistol then try to make it to your apartment." Like THAT suddenly solves
everything...

True, people keep doomsaying FF7 with things like "Oh, no! Absolutely no
gameplay! It's all eye candy! It's nothing but FMV! Etc.!" but I don't
think FF1 is a better game than FF7. Actually, I enjoy a little from both
worlds...my favorites are Final Fantasies 3j, 4, 6, and Tactics, plus Breath
of Fire III and Star Ocean: The Second Story (Star Ocean 2).

It's a good game. It's basically the same type of strategy game as FF
Tactics. The good is that it has quite possibly THE most captivating story
in an RPG I've played, and the dialogue is masterfully written (as if you
couldn't tell that from reading that quote :-b) the down is that the
Gameplay is almost nonexistant, it's even more linear than KARTIA was, and
the Classes are rather pathetic, especially if you're used to playing FF
Tactics. Oh well, all in all, I really enjoyed that game, and think it's
worth a rental AT LEAST.

I cheated by killing the naga in the last building over and over again
until I had enough experience to max out every skill. The serpent
_never_ fought back, and I got 10 points per kill.

Is this (as I've had to explain to my bubba bros. sooooooooo many times) like

Same thing with me and Chocobos...that's my biggest complaint in FF Tactics
(random battels with Chocobos in them and absolutely no way to escape in
that game! Things get ugly without a Mediator and I SEVERELY don't like
that...that would be why I got a Mediator and kept using him enough to where
his level is almost higher than Ramza. :-b)

Well, I haven't played that, but I do try to play honorably. I went
through the entirety of FF3 and never used Demi, Poison, Break, or any
of the hindering spells, except for XZone, and that only because I was
forced to. On the other hand, I did have a bad habit of killing
villagers in Final Fantasy Adventure... still, for the most part, I
fight nice.

Well yeah, of course YOU would agree, you're basically 9/10 of the
