Of interest primarily to new posters:

All postings to the Excel newsgroups are archived to Deja News. So like using
HELP many of the answers to questions can be found there. If you lose track
of your own posted question you can find it there about 3-4 hours after
posting.

For instance a recent question, how can I put a graphic into the header or
footer. [ans: generally you have to use spreadsheet top rows] can be found in
Deja News.

Deja News Power Search:
http://www.dejanews.com/home_ps.shtml

Search Keywords: (header or footer) & (graphic or logo)
Forum: *excel*
Results Format: threaded
Results per page: 100

Take a look at the HELP in Deja News (help upper right corner) and again at
help index. One particular page you should really read is
http://www.dejanews.com/help/help_lang.shtml
So that you know how boolean operators are specifically used in DejaNews.
Seems every search engine has a little variation. And Not &! is a bit
different in Deja News in that the two characters must not have intervening
space.

Look at the blue tab on a hit to look at the entire thread. Another thing if
you wish to point to an article found on Deja News you should use the
"bookmarking" form to show the URL to a specific article.

Outside of Deja News, other items of interest to new posters:
Chip Pearson's: Guide for new posters
http://home.gvi.net/~cpearson/excel/newposte.htm
his homepage is http://home.gvi.net/~cpearson/excel.htm, where you will
see a
lot more information about doing things in Excel.
an explanation of how these guidelines came about, on my

Another page of particular interest to all Excel users and frequently
refererenced in the Excel newsgroups are John Walkenbach's spreadsheet pages.
John writes the spreadsheet column for PC World. You can tell people have
glanced at least glanced at his column when two months later people ask "I
heard there is ...".

look over his entire site and before you leave certainly look at:
