I need to tell you a story of how my life suddenly changed. I just
flew the most amazing multiline kite I've ever flown.

I can't tell you who makes the kite, because the maker of the kite
wouldn't tell me his/her name. (I'm sure this happens to you all of
the time: you're flying away and somebody just hands you a kite
without telling you their name or who makes the kite).

I was only told it would be called the R-KET. It was framed in very
exotic rods, and a new kind of exotic polyester material. The
workmanship was so good that it looked like it belonged in the Neiman
Marcus catalog instead of a kite store.

Mar... I mean, The Person let me fly this kite and boy was I
impressed.

I have been flying dual line kites for 15 years. I have flown over
1000 different dual line kites and I have been competing ever since
competition began. I consider myself an Intermediate class flyer, but
then again I consider flyers like Scott Auchenbau, Ron Reich, David
Bui, Miguel Rodriguez and Dodd Gross to be Novice class flyers.

I have connections all over the kite industry and have every single
new dual line kite introduced systematically shipped to me after which
I take it out in perfectly smooth 6-8 MPH winds and test every single
one of them in exactly the same kind of wind.

Needless to say, if it's a dual line kite, I've extensively tested it.

Now you can see why I felt compelled to give you this unbiased
testimonial (can't you?).

I flew this kite in every wind condition possible. The 4-dimensional
trapezoidal Bernoilli-surface-effect sail dealt with the varying winds
beautifully. The kite also includes low-wind avionics.

The kite does not pull in heavy wind, but does tension your lines in
low wind. It makes any pilot, including the very spastic, look like
an awesome precision flyer. After you turn this kite, it is ready for
another turn. When you land the kite, it's ready to be taken off.
When your stall the kite, it's ready to be taken out of the stall.
Wow, that's some control!

Along with being a precision kite, the R-KET axels better than any
kite ever made. This kite can do coin-tosses, double and triple
axels, double-ally's, hatchets and suzuki's with ease. Even beginning
flyers can do any of these moves with the R-KET.

Ma... I mean the man/woman who introduced the kite to me showed me how
well-mannered the kite was by flying the kite straight down at the
ground, while holding his/her hands steady. Before the kite would
normally just pound its spine straight into the ground, the kite
stopped dead, and automatically rotated 180 degrees such that it was
ready to fly again. No wobble, no bumping, no nothing. This kite
offers total control only to flyers who might think they want this
control but doesn't to flyers who don't!

He/she also displayed how amazing the designer(s) of the kite were by
flying the kite down the center of the window, flattening the kite,
and letting it spin into infinite axels until the flyer performed a
quick flick of the wrist to pull it out.

The man/woman who handed me the kite said that this was due to the
quantum kinetic balance of the frame with the bridal and the sail,
which was built perfectly in synch with the earth's rotation.

This coordinates with the kite's low-wind avionics.

Given my extensive experience with every kite made, I can easily
compare it to the current best selling and well known dual-lines kites
out there.

It doesn't have that annoying uncontrollable oversteer like a Cal
Wasp. It doesn't have that losing competitive reputation on the East
Coast like the Pro, Tracer, or MEFM. It doesn't look sloppy and
amateurish like any of the Prism kites, and it doesn't feel like a
dragging a stone around in light wind like the XTC Feather or X4i. It
doesn't have the boring graphics of the Air Master (which is really
just a higher-aspect copy of a Skynasour Aerobat with a shorter tail
and a deeper sail).

This kite has changed my life and the lives of the people around me.
It has brought me hope and the ability to have children again. It is
the perfect precision kite, coupled with the perfect freestyle kite.
I have waited all my life for this kite. I now have a kite I can fly
to my favorite kind of music: bag-pipes!

This kite will also make flyers more creative. The owner of the kite
wasn't clear on how the kite actually translated this ability down the
lines to the flyer's cognitive functions, but it definitely worked for
me (except for all these damn BATS flying around all the time now!).

The kite will also be enjoyed by: people who don't fly competitively;
people who hate kites; people who will willfully destroy all property
around them when allowed to do so. It's light, responsive, agile,
solid and secure.

I would like to talk about this kite forever. Due to absurd Internet
etiquette, though, I'm not allowed to.

Don't be stupid and buy kite from another maker next year.

Buy only this one.

By the way, even though the person who handed me the kite wouldn't
tell me who he/she was or who manufactured the kite, he/she DID give
me the suggested retail price range:

$50 to $60 U.S. Visa and Mastercard Accepted. Void where prohibited,
your mileage may very.

I have tested the R-KET and all of the claims are true. Here is a more
technical review of the kite.

The sail is made from .5 oz Icarot polyester. It is imported from an
Asian country and is distributed exclusively by a company specializing in
kite string. Although it share similar properties to another polyester
material currently used on many kites, the makers claim that Icarot is not
the same and is superior because the colors on this material are more
visible and don’t have silly names. It is also less expensive that the
other materials because the distributor is not marking it up as much.

The design of the sail was developed using computer aided design
techniques. They employed the same software as used by the America’s Cup
winning sail and the space shuttle wings. Extensive wind tunnel testing
at NASA further optimized the design. The designer consulted a team of
experts in high speed avionics to help fine tune the kites 3-D sail for
the ultimate performance in all wind conditions.

The frame utilize a newly developed high modulus carbon fiber and is
produced using a combination of pultrude and wrapped technology. The
material cost $500 per pound but since they use so little, the effective
material cost per spar is 25 cents. The manufacturer Blowfish Sports
claims that the spars are lighter and stronger that equivalent Beman,
Exel, Avia, Skyshark, or Black Lightning.

The bridle is the first of its kind Turbo Infinity (registered trademark);
it combines an adjustable angle of attack, with variable outhauls, dual,
quad, and yes THREE line capabilities, all on one single bridle system.
For those of you who like to tinker with your bridle, this kite has it
all. You can spend days trying to adjust the bridle (and it still won’t
fly right). It is ideal for heavy winds, light winds, and no wind. You
can use two, three, or four lines, and just for fun, there is an optional
“One Liner” retrofit kit that will convert this to a single line kite.
And speaking of lines, the kite has a cheater line, leech line, leading
edge line, and trailing edge line.

The kites also features a multi-stand-off-system. You can use 1,2,3, or 4
stand-offs depending on flying style, wind conditions, or if you just lost
a few. They are fastened using a patent metal locking clip system that
has been tested in over a million applications. Also included is a built
in wind reduction screen that can double as a flyswatter.

All of the kites features are patented and enforced with a team of no less
than 6 patent attorneys. They are prepared to sue anyone who may even
think about duplicating the kites. The kite’s graphics are also
copyrighted; this includes all design variants including the center box,
center diamond, curved and straight line graphics.

The instruction manual is the best in the industry. The 100 page book is
complete with illustrations and step by step instructions on how to launch
and maneuver the kite. A companion disk in either PC or MAC format is
available to plot and graph the various maneuvers possible with this kite.
They also include an instructional video prepared by a former World Cup
winner and Master Class flyer.

This new kite has already established a winning track record by taking
first place at the Tasmania Open Invitation. The MYSL took second.

You should see the kite at your favorite kite shop, Wal Mart, Sams Club,
and Price Club / Costco within 2-4 weeks and mail-order catalogs like In
Wind, Gone Wind, Full of Wind etc. The model at Sams Club is not made by
R-KET but rather a converted jeans plant in Mexico. You can also
purchase it directly from the manufacture (they have factory seconds at a
reduced price). The manufacturer of the kite can be found on the Make
Money Fast thread and make sure you check the most recent posting for the
current PO BOX. They are also offering to sign and number the first 50
kites.

Disclaimer and my credentials: I have personally flown over 200+ kites and
read and written enough B.S. about kites to fill 2000+ pages. If there
is a company that I have failed to offend with this review, please email
me and I will include them in the follow-up review.

Hey Darrin, great work!

First you go through the trouble of spoofing the account and site for

It's my understanding that this is the much anticipated (by a certain kite
store head buck-a-roo) Helium Encapsulated or H.E. graphite. This has been
in development for over 10 years. It's extraordinary "light weightness"
(TM) is achieved by exchanging oxygen molecules with Helium molecules at the
molecular level. This is done "while" the graphite is being applied to the
spindle.

I'd like to tell you all about the kites features, but my attorneys have
advised me not to.

The unix version would be ready by now, but... Oh, sorry, my attorneys tell
me I can't discuss this either.

I have been authorized, by my attorneys, to make this brief statement.
Negotiations for filming have been canceled, but we have authorized a
computer animated likeness that can be used to finish the filming of the
instructional video.

As a sponsored flier of the MYSL, I can honestly say that the judges were
simply not able to judge the unique and innovative tricks performed by the
MYSL competitor. If the judges were experienced MYSL fliers, my friend
would have taken first place, not second.

And just when I was geting a little down on the world of stunt
kites...please accept my order for twenty seven of these beautiful
kites. Do you happen to know the exchange rate of dollars to corn
flake coupons or gooey sticky stamps? I'm a litle short of green cash
these days...so if you don't accept stamps or coupons maybe you could
give me your ten-year-same-as-cash offer. By the way, I only need
three wind meters.

Thanks a lot.
