I just download the episodes of Evangelion and some of 'em are not working
(no sound). When I use Windows media player, it's searching for a codec but
still no sound. Is there something in particular that I must use to make it
work??

Thanx for your help
Annie

Why not just buy them instead? They look much better on DVDs. And get
rid of that "@hotmail.com" in your mail address, many people filter your
messages away.

I'll only help you because
a) this is a generic problem, and
b) you correctly aligned your lines.

Get a file named "divx311alpha.exe" and install it. After that, install
a current DivX codec (or repeat its installation). You'll see it works
then.

BTW: I know which .avi files you have. They're *bad*. Get other files
or the DVDs. Or are you having other .avis than I downloaded some
time ago for giving them to a friend? Most of the ones I found
always contained two episodes and some had - even worse - a
"Sorrow encode" tag in the upper left corner. They're *crap* [1].
You won't like them. They'll hurt your eyes. After a lot of
GIMPing, you can even use some few screenshots out of them - but
they're not good for anything else. Why the f*ck don't the sharers
of this crap delete these files and replace them by better ones?
And to you: please don't give these files to anyone else.

BTW²: the German version of ep 22 (or 21?) is "uncut", that is,
completely according to the scripts. But I still don't like the
subs.

BTW³: I even found one mistake: the subs show EVA-02, while "Zerogoki"
is being spoken about and the one which is visible is clearly
recognizable as EVA-00.

[1]: Do you know the CD box on engrish.com that shows the name
"ERIC CRAPTON"?

Does anybody know where to find the Eva DVDs in Europe? Is there a Region 2
version of the original TV episodes?

Thanks,

A

If Region 2 is the code which works in Europe: yes. You can even order
the Japanese discs, they'll work on your DVD player if it and/or your TV
can convert the norm properly.

And I can tell you where you should NOT get the DVDs from: eBay.

This word comes from Latin, from Gibberish. How can you use it then?

BTW: What's bad about these files? They have such a bad image and sound
quality that they cannot be called NGE any more. I've done some
encodings myself - and got a much better image quality at the same file
sizes (three CDs).

But, in one thing you're right: since these files are not NGE any more,
he's off topic in this group.

You understand that once I've thwacked you it's too late right? You
understand that the concept of hitting you has been issued and it's no
longer a concern right?

It's under the ID lines!

Because it's not "gibberish" anymore. Perhaps you need a little help, you
see I'm not speaking Latin regardless of the fact that the language I am
using comes from it. I am speaking English, and in English, "Gibberish"
can't get you killed like "Traitor" can.

It's more the concept and the idea before the act that bothers me. The Act
is just a result of intent.

The thwack divider already has been installed. I don't need to activate
it before a thwack arrives - it's always active. You destroyed my first
one and my second one still does not work correctly - it seems to ignore
\*THWACk\*s (everything upper case except the k), which therefore reach
me. But I'm working on the bug.

The problem with the all upper case \*THWACK\* is of course still there
- these ones just have too much energy to get divided up correctly.

*building the first thwack mirror prototype*
*testing it*
What, it has let it through?
*continuing work on the plans*

So just because *you*r native language is English, it does not make
English a "better" language than others. All languages except Japanese
are to be considered equal in this NG.

Do you have death penalty in your state? In Germany it does not exist,
so nothing can get me killed - theoretically.

I guess you don't understand.

So what? That has got nothing to do with this conversation. Regardless if
you think it's equal or more or less it's the language I'm currently
using.

I live in a province! In Canada criminal law is written by the fed's and
enforced by the province. Unfortunately we don't have the death penalty
here. Government is a wimp.

Anyhow it doesn't matter if you are really gonn aget the chair or not,
that's not the point. Fact of the matter is that someone somewhere was a
traitor and is getting the chair. Thus gibberish won't get you killed but
Traitor will.

You could always order the box set from dvdsoon.com or bn.com. I ordered
mine from bn.com and they also seem to be region free, which was nice. :)

Hope that helps.
