some favorites:
"Bohemian Rhapsody"
"I think I'm a clone now" (guess who that's about)
"Pretty fly for a white guy"
"Invader Zim- The Doom song" (That one is a cack!)
and another favorite, but not really a music video:
"Asuka the black knight" - Takes the sound from the Black knight scene from
"Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail", and puts eva scenes over
the top. the words fit perfectley!
Get it? Got it? Good.
SAM
Which one? There are many, I haven't seen all yet but didn't like any of
those I watched. I only remember one which took the lyrics of Bohemian
Rhapsody word by word - somewhat funny, but it doesn't have much to do
with the song itself. Especially silly in the "Mama - just killed a man,
put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead" scene. The
aiming training scene of episode 02 doesn't really fit here... (was it
at "pulled" or at "trigger"?)

I particularly liked Nena's "99 Luftballons", since it was basically
using the fight against the Mass Production Evas.

The Rammmstein/Engle, mostly Mass prod. Eva fight also, was the best I have
seen.

That's a very sad song (I don't know the English verson "99 red
balloons" but I suppose that's the text is about the same). From
memory (yes, really ;-): (E: quick and dirty translation).
D: Hast du etwas Zeit fuer mich, dann singe ich ein Lied fuer dich
von 99 Luftballlons auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont - hielt man fuer
UFOs aus dem All, darum schickte ein General Fliegerstaffeln
hinterher, nachzusehen ob's so wär. Dabei war'n dort am Horizont
nur 99 Luftballons.
E: If you have some time for me, I'll sing you a song about 99
balloons on their way to the horizon - they were supposed to be
UFOs from outer space, so a general did send (airman squadrons?)
after them to see if it that was the case. Yet there were only 99
balloons on the horizon.
D: 99 Kriegsminister, Spielzeug und Benzinkanister. 99 Duesenflieger,
jeder war ein grosser Krieger, hielten sich fuer Captain Kirk - es
gab ein grosses Feuerwerk.
E: 99 Ministers of warfare, toys and petrol cans. 99 jet plane
pilots, evry was a great warrior, thought of being Captain Kirk -
there was a big fireworks.
D: 99 Jahre Krieg liessen keinen Platz fuer Sieger. Hab' 'nen
Luftballon gefunden, heb' ihn auf und lass' ihn fliegen.
E: 99 years of war didn't leave any place for winners. Found a
balloon, pick it up and let it fly.

Wow! the english one(99 Red Ballons) was much more upbeat
Josef 'Jupp' Schugt
The English is a little different but I don't know if I would call it more
upbeat. The English lyrics are:
You and I and a little dachshund, buy a bag of balloons with the money we
got, set them free at the break of dawn, till one by one they were gone.
Back at base, fox in the software flash the message "something's out
there".
Floating in the summer sky 99 red balloons go by.
99 red balloons floating in the summer sky. ? ? it's red alert, there's
something here from somewhere else. The war machine springs to life, opens
one eager eye focusing in on the sky as 99 red balloons go by.
99 decisions clear, 99 ministers meet to worry worry super scurry. Call the
troops out in a hurry. This is what we've waited for, this is it boys, this
is war. The president is on the line as 99 red balloons go by.
99 knights of the air ride super high tech jet fighters. Everyone's a super
hero everyone's a Captain Kirk with orders to identify, clarify, and
classify.
Scrambling in the summer sky 99 red balloons go by.
99 dreams I have had everyone a red balloon.
It's all over and I'm standing pretty in this dust that was a city, if I
could find a souvenir just to prove the world was here... and here is a red
balloon I think of you and let it go....
I could do it from memorie so I had to listen to the song over several
times.

Woops, I had the lines in the last verse almost totaly wrong. They are
gloomy. I don't think the earlier verses in the english veresion were as
threatened/ war-monngering as the geman version though. Thanks.
The way I allways heard it back when the song was new,(Damn comments like
that make me feel old!) was that Nena did'nt speak a word of english when
she toured the 1st time with the song and she perfomed the english version
phoneticly from memory. I'll have to do a search and learn whatever happend
to her.
I was wondering if she spoke English or not, at least on the album the
English songs are sung very well, quite clear and not very accented.

Thanks you.
BTW: Did anybody notice that in subtitled Anime you quite often hear
"Thank you" (in English)?
