I have a new Kodak Dx 4350, new to the digital camera , i was wondering what
do you mean when you say you have a point and shoot camera. Are these good
cameras or are there a better camera than a point and shoot.

The camera makes all decisions for you: aperture, shutter speed etc.

They are good if you don't want to worry about these details. However, if
you want to be creative, those cameras will not offer you any choices.

Some cameras have several settings including point & shoot and manual (where you make
your own decisions). My Nikon Coolpix 4300 takes good point & shoot pictures; so far I
have only managed pretty average results when I move on to manual, but I'm learning :-)
