even the BBC's pointing it out:

About halfway down, it's only 12x dubbing. Is there no advertising
standards council or whatever to stop them repeating such falsehoods?

Thanks for that. I guess that means I'm not getting one. That and reading
last night that there will be a new video disc format by a rival
consortium, next year.
I am also so disappointed that those mail order wallets do not actually
allow buyers to win large amounts of money.

By "consortium", do you mean just some standards body, or a group of
manfacturers? If either is the case I wouldn't hold my breath if I were
you. It takes a long time to go from a standard being fixed, to it
being introduced into the market in actual products - some standards
never make it into commercial products.
