I think she focuses on Gendo only because he's the only
one who treats her like a human being or that she's
important to him.
I don't think she has sexual fantasies or even feelings
at all.

IMHO she probably does not understand the concept, though she might have
rudimentary ones. If so, possibly about Gendo, and possibly about Shinji
(the latter only as long as we are speaking of Rei II----I would be less
certain about Rei III).

It is perfectly understandable that in the sterile

Rei climbs out of the shower to find Shinji Ikari in her flat, trying
on precious Gendo-sama's glasses. She reaches out to grab them,
causing him to lose his balance and tumble over on top of her, his

Yup, the fact that Rei is brought back for the third time finally
makes her realise that she is only alive for a purpose and that Gendo
