Canon Powershot S 40 help please

Had some great results from this camera but am experiencing a problem
which has started for no reason!

Set on 'P' Programmme for some reason I find that it takes the picture
I want. That should be it but it them carries on and takes another
pttcure and a third. I have confirmed I am not leaving my finger on
the shutter too long, not twitching on the shutter and so on. I have
checked other settings and cannot recognise and switch or confuration
that would do this. It is not set to take a number of shots while
shutter pressed.

What can this be.

Hello Chubby,

there is an configuration item, which you can select to make three pictures,
one normal one under and one overexposed.
You can find the way to configure these items on the left side of your
display.
