Tonight as I got off my train an old guy was doing a crazy drunken walk around
the platform. (I have already saved one old fart who nearly fell on the tracks
as a train arrived, he was defying gravity at a crazy angle over the tracks and
would have been hit by the train even if he didn't fall). Anyway this guy was
leaning over the platform spewing his guts out onto the track, I looked at the
sign board to see an express was due through.
I ran over to the platform guard and pointed it out but he was more interested
in doing his funny gestures to get the train going. I told him to do something
and he just directed me up the stairs. By the time I realised he wasn't going to
do anything it was too late, the express came through and gave the old fart a
bit of a shock, perhaps damaged underwear but nothing else.
I guess he didn't want spew on his uniform.

Triangle Man hits Person Man
They have a fight

But the burning question is, did he have オヤジ臭?

I know that 米語 is 聞き取りにくい for you foreigners. Let me give you a
hand:
Triangle Man hates Person Man
They have a fight,
Triangle wins.

Did you know that "The Bobs" did an a capella version of that little ditty?
KWW
Would it help me answer this question if I knew or cared who "The Bobs"
were?

Naruhodai, demo arigatoh.

It's sad that you don't. Very few groups can do a capella versions of
songs like "Whole Lotta Love" and "Psycho Killer" well.
KWW
You're right, my life somehow seems more bleak now.

As well it should.

Acapella is shit (but that's just my personal opinion)
.

Hah! try this: http://www.euphorics.com/trk9.wav
Dan
That is shit (but that's just my personal opinion).
Not too shabby. I found myself cringing a bit with the following though....
http://www.euphorics.com/trk5.wav
Am I the only one though? And Freddy would probably luv it of course.

me none more of that Old Janx Spirit/ For my head will fly, my tongue

that sinful Old Janx Spirit"

Oh my GOD! Nevermind cringing. Douche chills, anyone??
Raj
I don't much approve of their list of choices, but
http://www.bobs.com/media.html includes a few samples of the masters at
work (not that there is anything wrong with the Euphorics).
KWW
Fair enough; what do you like?

You're not the only one. I've known these guys since, well, uhm, we were
all hippys in the past, but I don't like everything they do. Still, they
sing like noone's business, and I think the Police tune shows them at
their best (although live is the kicker). But YMMV.
Dan
Jeez, that's pretty bad. Thing is, though, I know these folks, and it
kind of makes sense: I suppose it just shows to go ya the danger of
in-jokes.
Dan
Thanks for pointing them out; I'd never heard of them before, but that's
some brilliant stuff.

If you decide to buy, then "The Bobs Sing the Songs of" and "The Bobs
Cover the Songs of" are great cover collections. "Songs for Tomorrow
Morning," "My, I'm Large," and "The Bobs" are their best original
albums. "Plugged" is useful only as a drink coaster, I'm afraid.
KWW
Very loud guitars and drums.
"heavy decibells are playing on my guitar ..."
Works for me too, in fact I still enjoy the occasional dose of early
Fred Zephrin, err, Led Whatsit, although my absolute favourite is still
John Cippolina.
Dan
Hokay; I'll see what my local CD emporium has.
Dan
Do you know that music has been recorded this century?
.
Yes Brett, but I'm an old guy, and us old folks like our prehistoric
geezer rock. Do you have a suggestion for some good, current loud stuff?
Dan
Well I'm 38 surely not exactly a spring chicken.
The young uns are going on about The Vines, The White Stripes, which are
interesting in a retro way. The Darkness are insane stadium thrash rock
dinosaurs. I don't like them so much.
A personal favourite is Audio Slave whp didn't last long in the charts. The
singer from Soundgarden with Rage Against the Machine, two of my favourite
bands.

I've got a suggestion. Turn your hearing aid up to 11 and then watch
Japanese MTV. That ought to grow some more hair in your earlobes.
You want current loud stuff? Crank some classic AC/DC up and stop asking
stupid questions.
Geez, I thought it was a fairly intelligent question. The last loud
stuff I really liked was Alice in Chains, but that's hardly
contemporary. And, yes, I like small doses of AC/DC; they've got to be
just about the silliest headbangers ever (ok, Aerosmith are pretty
mirth-inducing too).

So you liked Alice in chains, and think that AC/DC are silly headbangers?
Wait right there while I get my shotgun. Grrrrrr!!!!
Yup, and they think so too: I think a few seconds of any of their videos
will support that. Besides, Alice in Chains are like, so deep... (BTW,
in my little corner of the world, "silly" is not necessarily pejorative).
