Some people say he's 'The Wandering Jew', the one who pierced Christ with
the Lance of Longinus, and therefore was forbidden to walk the earth until
The Apocalypse.

This idea defines the word 'ridiculous' in my opinion.

No, the person who stabbed Jesus with the Lance was a Roman soldier,
Longinus, and was made a saint. Why? I don't know.
The Wandering Jew spat on Jesus at his crucifixtion, and was cursed to walk
the earth until the Apocalypse, as you say. It's an interesting idea, but
doesn't fit in with the rest of Eva.

His whole story was... He was a roman soldier who was blind. When he
stabbed Jesus on the cross some of the blood got in his eyes and restored
his sight. He imeadeatly converted to chistanity and spread the word despite
being threatened by the autorities. Later they arrested and tortored him for
it. According to the catholic church he continued to praise god even after
they removed his tongue and his spilt blood caused the overseeing officails
to see demons. Rough way to become a saint!
I read all this on a christian site that listed all the saints with
their info. They have saints for everything! My fav has got to be Barnabus,
patron saint of artilliary. :)

Crucifixion is death by suffrocation. Stabbing someone like that is actually
being merciful and speeds up the dying process.

Oops, made a mistake. My apologies everyone. ^^
None-the-less, I still think it's ridiculous

Id just like to ad in here, that its mainly just catholics who have all the
saints... The rest of the protestant denominations may acknowledge some of
them, but there is not such a focus mad on the saints themselves.
