3rd impact

I recently watched the whole Eva series and EoE for the first time, and I
loved it. There is something I couldn't quite figure out though, despite
looking through the FAQs: if the 3rd Impact will start the Human Completion
project, why does everybody want to prevent the Angels from triggering it?

long story short. They want to trigger the 3rd impact under thier control,
and forward thier own agendas, useing the EVAs and Rei and such.

If the Angels trigger it, all humans die.
If humans trigger it, all humans become one soul.
If NO BODY triggers it, the human race continues as it has.
As the latter has not been proven to be an evolutionary dead
end, I know which one *I* would prefer.

Actually if the humans control it then they may or may not become one. As
it turns out we get the best of both results.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't consider being turned

You apparently don't understand! That goo is just the remains of your
