I caught a repeat of Evangelion on Saiko Exciting, the Sci-Fi channel's
Saturday morning TV show, that shows Neon Genesis Evangelion and Martian
Sucessor Nadesico at around 10 in the morning. Last week, I saw an upskirt
shot from Adventure Kid when it was plugged, now I've beared witness to what
could be a Great Moment of Ayanami History.

This week, it was episode five (Rei, Beeyond Her Heart), and the scene where
Shinji goes over to Rei's apartment to give her her NERV ID card. I see
Shinji find a pair of specs on her desk, and him try and put it on....

And him turn around to see Rei wearing only a towel. The scene must have
been shown untouched, if not slightly cut. They even had a shot of Shinji's
hand on Rei's breast! This was somewhere at around 9am, when little children
would be watching the show.

Somehow, I have a nasty thought of the Daily Mail, and religuos right and
overbearing parents going to be slavering for blood over this... And what
will happen later on in the series...

Just think of what would happen if they showed End of Evangelion uneditted (and
they might too; they showed Vampire Hunter D almost completely uncensored (even
had the 'open bathrobe' scene with the girl :)

Yeah, so? It was cable wasn't it? I thought lack of censorship on cable was
well-known, and a plus!

Well apperently they may have to cut those episodes that earned a '12'
rating (I can't remember which ones) but when shown during the
Thursday night anime slot it should remain untouched. Also, in case
you didn't know, this week's OAV is gonna be Gunbuster (first three
eps this week, last three next) AND the first five eps of Eva and
Nadesico are being repeated this Monday-Friday at 11:30, and then
again at 15:00.

Keep in mind that this is the UK Sci-fi channel (the US one has
stopped showing anime, I believe), and TV censorship is handled
slightly differently over here.

Rubbish. Kids of the general age group we are talking about here really
have nothing to bring to the table. That's why it's there job to shut up
and do nothing but listen and obey. Wish I had known this from the start.
If I knew then what I know now then my life would have been a lot easier.
I could have closed my trap and stucked up all the knowledge I could.
Unfortunately, I can't take my pittiful 24 years and give it to myself
from the ages of 1 to 23.

So what? That's totally beside the point and for these matters
unimportant. Obviously we are not talking about Adults, we are talking
about kids. Don't change the subject.

Your post implied that you belive adults to be superior to children,
and I was merely arguing that that is not always the case - by the
same token, if you look hard enough you will find an 8-year-old
smarter than you and me put together.

Superior is not the right term. We are all equal as humans go. However an
adult will always be smarter then a child, more experienced and so forth.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure this rule has it's exception. For example
someone who has abused alcohol for years and as a result has suffer
several strokes will most likely have a severally reduce mental capacity.

But don't sit there an suggest that I have implied something I have not!
Your use of the term superior is an ugly attempt to twist my words into
something that looks like unjustified bias.

No 8 year old has the life experience of myself, let alone you and me put
together. There is no point in having huge intelligence if you don't know
how or why to use it.

A lady never tells. Unfortunately I'm a guy, so you've put me in a
rather awkward position -do I lie, tell the truth or simply refuse to
answer? All three options have different positive and negative
results (if I say I'm young I risk my credibility, yet I earn the
chance to prove my point by trying to write intelligent, well
thought-out posts from now on; if I say I'm older, I am more likely to
be considered an equal, yet I lose the afformentioned oppertunity; and
if I decline toindicate either way, I get myself out of thisrather
sticky situation, yet you are almostguaranteed to decide one way or
another for yourself), so I have to ask, Disaster, do you really care?

Well, I have made several observations in your reply. First your attempt
to dodge a loaded question is admirable but the positives you have listed
are all vulnerable as well. A youngling who writes an intelligent post can
be accused of acquiring assistance, if you are of equal or greater age
then you would have agreed with me long ago, refusing to answer is as good
as admitting guilt. This is not court by the way so don't bother quote
laws. Bottom line is the answer I will respect is an honest one and as I
have already made up my mind as to your rough age I would like to
compliment you on your relative maturity. I won't point out that you
forgot to use a spell checker and that some of your words are missing
spaces.

Now to your question, meant to throw me off track. Do I care? Hmmm, well
yes I do. Otherwise I would not have asked. You see your answer gives me
fuel to fire my side of the argument. Thus I do care to hear you answer
because it is to my benefit in proving that the young will never outthink
the old.

Thanks for not answering. It gave me the opportunity to answer for you.

eep. I just expected you to say 'no' - you're smarter than I thought.
You seem to have already worked it out (so you will no doubt accuse
me of only answering because it makes little difference now, and you
may be right) but I'm 15. I would like to say that I still stand by
my beliefs; I agree that - as a collective - the young could never
out-think the old, but I firmly believe that some individuals can
break free of the restrictions that age places upon them - I'm not one
of them, but I'm not black either and I still think that the Klu Klux
Klan have some pretty fucked up ideas. Anyhoo, you've somehow managed
to make me feel even more worthless than I already knew myself to be -
so have a muffin - but for the love of god let's not continue arguing.

I'm so glad to have exceeded your expectations. (Read sarcasm)

I remember 15. So I understand why you are disagreeing with me. You don't
believe me though, but I promise you it's true. In about 5 to 8 years
you'll understand. Age is not a restriction though, it's a mark of
experience in general. As you grow you become more mature and understand
more, your mind expands and you begin to see past the limits you saw
before. This has got nothing to do with the KKK or anything that in any
way relates to them. So we'll just drop that comment.

If you feel bad about this then that's something you have to get over. I'm
betting it takes you at least 3 years. If you think I'm going to drop an
argument then you obviously think I'm more mature then I do.

I see, I was not attacking you personally, just pointing out that your age

I wasn't talking about that - it was the subject of the whole
argument. However, as I am not representative of my entire age group,
it is pointless to attack my low intelligence; I may not be a unique
case, but plenty of people are.

The subject is your age group, not you specifically. The fact that you
belong to age groups is beside the point. No one can be unique because if
they were then they couldn't be part of the age group. The qualifications
for being part of an age group is to be the same age. Everyone has to be
the same, otherwise they don't fit into that age group. Hence, no one is
unique. I have not attack your intelligence.

It was 2.5 weeks, I'm getting ready to head back for three MONTHS, but I
WILL come over there! Don't think I won't or can't. I have better stamina
than you might think for a 32-year old. My soul. Give. Now.

OK, now I'm confused. You seem to think that I'm arguing that people
of the same age group are of different ages; I have absolutely no idea
how you came to this particular conclusion, but I was arguing that
people of the same age are unique in other aspects - including
intelligence and maturity.
