Important bits: Volume 1 of 2, available January 13, 2004, no word on
Fuyutski's voice, includes...
drumroll...
an interview with the head of Weta Workshop about the Evangelion
live-action movie!
I think they're serious.
Now that the details are out, I think it's time I got the Perfect
Collection.

wow, most excellent news. I assume the director's cut episodes are the same
ones released in the Renewal set? i.e. back-to-the-cel transfers, 5.1
audio, etc?
Nope. While they have been remastered, these are simply the
extended-length versions of the last six episodes which were released in
Japan way back when, on the Laserdisc set, I believe. The Renewal set
goes much farther, and I don't think we'll ever see it here (barring a
huge demand created by the live-action movie).
You might notice in the press release that they're only including
2-channel audio.
