Watachi wa nihongo hanasemasen, demo .... I'm trying .. and youre doing
better than me Ha ha..
My Sensei, from 22 years ago when I was an active Judoka went to Tokyo on
an exchange program with the largest club in Tokyo.
I believe theire affiliated with JJF and they might have some openings for
Judo sensei's wishing to go abroad for a short while to train childrens
classes in other countries.
As far I know, there is a fair deal of non-japanese sensei's whom speak
Japanese and that may be a way for you to get abroad for a while doing what
you love.
Good luck to you.

I can understand that, but being also a referee of Japan Judo Federation you
surely wil be held on IJF rules. At least here Dutch Judo Federation is
following real close. Almost yearly there are some changes in ruling. Honsty
forbid to say that we do divert in ruling from this for youth under 12. but
only in not allowing some technics that are thought of as dangerous for this
catagory.

No unfortunately I have not been to Japan... yet. But if all gods are
willing and my internet related work goes as it should, I will go there one
day. Hopefully being able to make my self a lot better understood in
Japanese too. LOL
I took 10 weeks with a private teacher, who was born in Kyoto, but that was
11 years ago.
I started studying by my self just recently again, and I am using both
tapes, CD's and regular Kana guides to get back in the game.
I am even writing my own beginners Kana tutorial now to kick off my
learning a bit more forcefully.

Oh I know.. a friend of mine from here is living in Tokyo and practicing
professionally now.

I agree, it is really important, and not only for children, but people of
all ages to stay both mentally fit and maintain a healthy balance in
general.
Judo was actually a very large turning point for me as a kid as I was very
overweight. I lost all that over a summer and got in excellent shape.
Unfortunately, by my third graduation date in Judo I had the missfortune of
meeting the mat a bit to fast and it didnt help having a 190 lbs (85kg) guy
fall on top of me.
A brooken collar bone and 22 weeks of healing and waiting lead me asrtay
into many different sports.
Allthough I must say, judo was the main trigger to a healthier me.
