Have to enter password every time

I did a fresh install of XP on my laptop and set up OE to remember password.
No matter what I try I have to enter my password to enter email and
newsgroups. I went into properties and checked the save password box and no
change, and the password box is always blank when I go back to it. I even
went on my desktop (WHICH WORKS) and copied every tab and setting and still
OE asks for my password. I don't get it both systems have the same OS, same
updates etc and my laptop worked before I did the fresh install. ANy
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
