1 flash card 2 cameras?

This is a question my daughter and her friend asked me.(they are ten
and don't think anything is impossible yet)
She has a HP Photosmart 215 and her friend has an Argus DC2700, if my
daughter takes pictures in her Photosmart camera on a compact flash
card can her friend then put the card in the Argus DC2700 and download
those pictures to the friends computer?
I told them not to try it in case it damages the card, but what do I
know.
If someone does know, would you be so kind as to let us know one way
or the other.

It won't hurt the card, but the cameras probably use different directory
structures. If so, neither camera will be able to see the other camera's
pictures.

Yup! Also lots of cameras (most?) look for the Meta-tag info
before trying to load the image. I notice that with my Nikons
even if I try and duplicate the image size and cheat the meta-tags
an image touched by another application will NOT display when
reloaded back into the camera.

Hehe I tried to fake a shot I rendered in Maya of aliens landing
in my front yard. :D Nothing I tried worked.
