Forgive me if this is slightly less on-topic than my other posts but, as
I only recently discovered this group, I was wondering a couple of
things.

Roughly how many people are on this group?

Where in the world are we all located?

Whilst I'm writing this, I may as well introduce myself properly.

I'm in the UK. I live on the Isle of Wight which is a small island at
the bottom of the UK.

I'm 22 (as of last week, yay!) and female.

I actually have quite an interesting job. I work onboard 5 car ferries
that run between this island and mainland UK and, to be honest, working
on these ships is like having your own anime mecha!! :D

I've been into Evangelion for about a year and a bit. It's an absolute
gem of a series.

I can't pick a favourite character because they are all so interesting.

Anyway, I still can't believe there's a newsgroup all about Evangelion
and I've gone all this time without knowing about it! :D Doh!

So, that's my little introduction over...

Normal transmissions may now resume:)

I can't say I post here a great deal these days.. but I'm in the UK
(bedfordshire, about 50 miles north of London, described as "the
dark country" by the lead singer of a band I like ;D).

I've been posting here for a loooong long time, since 99 at least,
because I remember everyone talking about the end of the world
at New Years '99 ;)

My love of Eva was recently rekindled by Death & Rebirth popping
into the stockroom of the Virgin Megastore I was working at in a
box of new release stock and I then proceeded to rewatch the whole
lot and import The End Of Evangelion...

but i'm more of a music geek these days, stalking various bands
across the south of england and spending stupid amounts on CDs. its
all good ;-)

I'm here at Michigan, USA.

EVA was the second anime I started watching, a little over 4 years ago. I
came here then, when almost all posts here were in Japanese, and only about
a half dozen posts per day. Then it became mostly english posts with
several hunderd posts per day. Now these days I havn't seen a Japanses post
in a long time, and postings have been a little slow. Been mostly lurking
for the past little while.

I saw a piece of doujinshi artwork once that showed the Children
together as actual children, each holding a plushie of their
EVA unit. Rei (incredibly adorable in a long and frilly flannel
nightgown) was staring at the viewer while behind her, Asuka
had Shinji down on the ground and was pounding on him with her
EVA doll.

It was so sweet...

Hello, just found this group about 2 months ago and been pretty much lurking
since then, but I like the peple here, at least from the posts, no spammers
really. Been into anime since I was 8 (1992) when I saw Akira, Iria, and
Green Legend Ran all in one night on an anime special block on SciFi
channel. Saw Eva about 6 years ago and loved it, and recently saw EoE and
was equally amused, if nothing more than because it had substance, it wasn't
a psych session for 2 eps (the original ending was kinda anti-climactic for
me.)

As for stas:

I'll probably be posting more, now that I've properly introduced myself!!

Don't get me wrong, I liked the last 2 eps too, it was still a fitting
ending, albeit a bit on the cheap looking side, but once I saw EoE, I liked
it more, it still did the psych shakedown of the characters, and they got to
do some nice quality fighting too. LoL, I guess I'm just picky when I would

Disaster decided to post the address of someone he didn't get along with -
something he found by checking the domain registration info on the person's
homepage <I don't remember who.> His excuse was that it was "public
information". Oliver didn't see it the same way and.. well it didn't go down
too well.

A few regulars and numerous lurkers, of which I am one.

> Where in the world are we all located?

I'm from Kansas in the United States. I'm currently 26, and share a
birthday with Misato & her Japanese voice actress (I am not 100% sure
of the spelling of that word, so I'll use it's meaning)

I stumbled across Evangelion a few years ago when my local video rental
place got in some new anime after a long time. (Imagine having to deal
with a SMALL DVD selection, and they've grown a little, however I'm
still confused as to why they will sometimes get a DVD from a series
and it's the 3rd or 6th in the series and that's all they have of it.

After watching Eva, I was hooked. I have since bought all the
remaining DVDs in the series and both movies, and my Anime DVD section
of my personal library is now over half of the total number of DVDs
(the others are split into half regular movie/ half video game DVDs).

There is one thing bugging me about Asuka's Englis voice actress, she
has almost no variance, so when I caught another anime (Princess Nine)
and heard her voice with the same inflections and almost same attitude,
I thought, "That voice and that hair color doesn't match," since in it,
she portrays a blonde.

Oh well, back to lurking. Ok, remove this panel, and ah yes, the
hidden passage to under Maya Ibuki's workstation, YES!!!!

Not blaming anyone, but I was slightly offended by what I perceived to be something rude. Seriously, should it matter whether the
original poster is new here or not? I personally don't think so, given this is a public forum.

Speaking of Disaster, someone get him posting again! I miss his colorful commentary on everyday life. :-D

Just because someone's been here longer doesn't automatically mean they
carry more weight, unless they provide useful opinions and discussions. So
yeah, I'd agree there.

I'm slightly more offended, however, by the rising number of "is Asuka
jailbait" or the "Can someone gimme an h-game" grade topics. Don't even get
me started about posting hentai links. Or lemons.

Yes its a public forum, but there are still rules that apply. There are
other groups for that - post it there.

Please. And people wonder why anime gets a bad reputation so often.

Yep, without Disaster around to provoke to verbal explosion on a
regular basis, it's just not as much fun anymore...
