Cannon IXUS 400 - downloading movies to Mac?

Hi,
I’ve read the manual over and over again but there seems to be nothing about downloading movie clips from the camera (IXUS 400) to the computer (in this case an Apple iMac). I tried all kinds of tools, iPhoto, iMovie, Quicktime, Cleaner 6 .. Etc etc .. Has anyone tried downloading movies on a Mac?
Apparently it’s different on a PC, connecting the USB connectors gives you a drive to navigate through in windows!
