I think that was the one that went BOOM when they were testing the S2
Engine prototype. Unless there was a deleted scene floating around, a
concept sketch or some reference in a game that I dunno about, it's not
been seen.

The Bandai Evangelion 04 High Grade model box, like what was said earlier,
04 was never shown in the series so it must have been developed from concept
sketches or just a copy of 03(which it is).

what exactly is the S2 engine anyways? I noticed all of the completed
production model Evas had one. It's been a while since I watched the
series so my memory's a bit hazy.

It stands for "Super Solenoid", and the theory of how it works was apparently
part of Misato's father's work. But as far as I can tell, it's a magic engine
that gives its owner unlimited energy.
