At first, I thought Shinji had dirty magazines or something in his bed and
Asuka uncovered them when she lifted the sheets to force Shinji out of bed.
Plus, why would she be touching him there..?

Yes, but the subbed verion doesn't have Rei saying, "Oh, crap!" as
she's running. That made the whole episode right there.
