Need advice on filing a claim in regards to the Telecommunications Act of 1996

calls. Today the rep was SO RUDE and when asked for his name, and his phone,
he refused. He also indicated he was not familiar with the
Telecommunications act.
I want to file charges.
What are the steps? I live in Alameda County California
If this is not right group, please point me to it.

It's actually the Communications Act of 1934. The law your thinking about
is probably the Telephone Consumers Protection Act (TCPA) of 1991. It can
be found at 47 USC 227 and 47 CFR 64.1200.

I these people really got my goat, and I do want to procede with filing a
suit (I know I used the wrong term in the subject) and from what I
understand, if I have requested that I be removed, and I do not have any
prior contact or "working relationship" That they have 48 hrs. Also when
requested, the have to provide their name and a contact number. They also
have to be aware of the company's DO NOT CALL policy.
At this point, I want them to pay...
I can under stand telemarketing, but they do need to live by the rules, and
not pester people...
It does look like Telephone Consumers Protection Act (TCPA) of 1991 is the
correct law though, and sorry for the confusion....
