I have found out out that Kazaa and WinMX (WinNY) uses different shared
networks.
Is/are other network(s) available? If so, what P2P software are being used?

BearShare
LimeWire
Morpheus

I believe some of them have some interconnectibility with Kazaa.

If you are using Kazaa, you might wish to delete it and instead
install Kazaa-Lite, which is Kazaa minus the advertisements and
spyware. I believe there are different groups which make different
versions of Kazaa-Lite. I use the one from http://www.kazaa-lite.tk

I guess I'll have to find out myself about independent networks...

Yes, this is the one I have on one machine. Doesn't work on another computer
for some reason...

They're not all good. Be sure to check out the
links that Mike and I gave you to make sure you're
not downloading a lot of spyware.

The people at alt.internet.p2p have a lot of
good information on this subject too.

You might also want to install Ad-Aware (it's
free) www.lavasoft.nu before you start
experimenting with this stuff too much.

Great... I was looking for a related newsgroup, however, I couldn't find any
due to using the wrong terminology.
Thanks again.

These are all *Clients* not *Networks*

(The networks these use are being pulled from memory and are subject to
errors.)

Not a P2P client in the normal sense.

Hey, Sigi.....

Go here, http://www.slyck.com/ to get up-to-date info on P2P stuff. I
personally like Bittorrent for TV shows (from the US) , animes and
movies, WinMx for music, and Kazaa Lite (no adwares) for others.

With Bittorrent, AVI/MPEG files are usually online one or two nights
after they've been broadcast in the US. It's great especially if you
got ADSL.

BTW...... http://www.slyck.com/ has an interesting article about the
upcoming lawsuits to be filed by the RIAA (Recording Industry
Association of America) against individual computer users who share
music via Kazaa, etc.

I love KaZa lite, but!

I am running XP with dual logins- one for me in English and one for the Mrs
in Japanese.

She would love to be able to download some Japanese TV shows and generally
be able to search for files in Japanese (any P2P program).

I have not been able to work out if this can be done. Any ideas?

Yeah, it can be done. I found out by accident.

I had my machine set up to automatically start Kazaa-Lite on start up.
There are four user accounts, and each time any of the accounts is
logged into, it starts up an instance of K-L. When switching accounts,
if one doesn't log off, the instance of K-L will remain running. I
quite often had two instances running. This got to be annoying after a
while, because it caused me trouble with moving and deleting files.

As to finding Japanese TV shows on K-L, good luck.
