Well, I'm pretty sure that Shinji plays Suiten Fur Violoncello on his cello at
some point. It's more of a medieval piece, I think. Suiten Fur that is. Maybe
with the Violin and cello, it's classical.

I was a music student and a string player and, despite the fact that it's a
very cliched piece of music, I like it. YMMV.
Another piece of classical music which showed up in the movies is Bach's
Unaccompanied Cello Suite #1.

Actually, some rap artists use classical music as background for their raps.
And there's a rap version of the Canon on the Symphony of EVA soundtracks.
