Just wanted to say thanks to the people who took time to do the EVG faqs.
I had some confussion after watching EoE and the faqs helped considerably.
ex. I at first thought Shingi had chosen to stay in his dream world with
eva. So the ending beach sene would mean he would rather spend eternity
strangling the girl who rejected him than know love and understanding with
the merged human soul! Sound strange to say, but I lost at least 4 hours
sleep thinking that not only did Shingi lose the rewards his pain/ suffering
earned, He actively refused them in favor of hatred/ revenge!
Thanks to the faqs and rewatching EoE I understand what was hapening
now.(I hope) Though his decision to strangle the 2nd human to re-chose
physical form can't be healthy its better than my 1st impression.
On a side question Did Gendo Ikari Die? They show his headless body
standing there after an encounter with Eva 01 that could'nt have been real
in the physial sense. Shouldnt he have melted like everyone else? Did or
didnt he join the instrumentality?

I don't think he joined Instrumentality. I think that his "retribution"
was to be excluded from that.

According to the Cardass Masters Card Game he wasn't strangling at all,
he was "trying to confirm that she was there" or something, basically
just touching her to make sure she's there. I don't buy that myself,
per se, but I really don't think he chose to end instrumentality just so
he could strangle Asuka.

I think he did. I think EVERYONE did whether they liked it or not.

He _was_ strangling her, the card just didn't mention it. It didn't
say he _wasn't_ though.

But Gendou wanted to. His retribution, his punishment, was not to
be reverted to LCL like everyone else, not to have his soul released,
not to join in with the rest of humanity. He was excluded. Gendou wanted
to join in, his retribution was that he couldn't. At least that is what I
think.

pretty harsh treatment for the guy who made it all possible.( if not exactly
the way he planned) Shame too, considering he knew he'd become a cold
hearted manipulator. Just the kind of flaw completion was suppost to fix.
Thanks all for your take on it.

The final scene of EoE is really complicated. I think that Asuka must be
dead... She died in Eva02 after the fight with the eva series... Actully it
would be nice both Sinji and Asuka to be alive but I think that everyone who
died BEFORE the third impact couldn't come back to earth...

About Gendou, maybe he joined the HCP but not like he wanted to. Maybe he
wanted to be in charge like Shinji. But I'll agree with Michael's opinion...
Is the most logical...
