I would be interested in buying a CD of an mpeg that shows you burning the
bootleg and then buying a proper copy.

Actually it was an impulsive eBay purchase. At the time, I had thought
I was buying the genuine article and instead I get a DVD with
English/Chinese subtitles and Japanese dialogue with the english
portion of the subtitles translated very loosely by someone who
obviously doesn't speak the language fluently. Shortly after I got it
I saw them popping up all over.
In anticipation of Manga releasing the Genuine article in the states,
I thought I might as well sell it to a fellow eva fan for a fraction
of what I paid for it so they can see the movie(s) in advance.
This can still be found on eBay and stores like www.yesanime.com and
www.crosstoy.com also carry it and/or DVDs done by the same group out
of Hong Kong. There is also a boxed set version out there containing
both Death & Rebirth and End of Evangelion. They're a great oddity for
your eva collection and a nice way to get a look at it with a general
(albeit poorly translated)idea of the story before it hits here. As
for how I know it's from hong kong, IT WAS MAILED FROM THERE. I bought
it from a seller in california and a couple of weeks later it arrived
in the mail.
As for mine, it comes in its case and I'm not looking to make bank on
this. I'm just looking to let some other eva fan get a chance to get
ahold of this and see what a cool movie this is and at probably a
third of what the real thing is going to cost when Manga unleashes it.

Besides smart guy, wouldn't I need to buy a "proper" copy first? All I
have is this one DVD (and no CD burner!!!) and I'm hoping to sell it
for somewhere between $10-$15 (which will include shipping via regular
mail).

I rather suspect it's either whining, trying to justify theft, trying to
explain why you only got it for a short time, how you are sooooo sorry
that you did get it(either serious or sarcastic), how it isn't as good as
the original(shocker) so you don't want it anymore and now you are trying
to get someone else to help you pay for your loss and the next CD you buy.
