Mr. Tomino's credits date back to being part of the creative team behind
TV's popular "Astroboy". However, it is as a creator that Mr. Tomino has
distinguished himself. He is best known for shows such as "Reideen the
Brave", and of course, the immortal "Gundam" series, which recently
enjoyed its 20th anniversary celebration. Gundam's various spin-offs
(including Tomino's own "Gundam Z," "Gundam ZZ," "Turn-A Gundam" and
"Char's Counterattack") have enjoyed considerable success around the
world and are considered classics by many anime fans. Tomino's other
more recent works include "Brain Powerd" and "Garzey's Wing."

Boy! I sure hope someone asks him if there's ever going to be another
Gundam series/movie! I'd also be curious to see what he thinks (if anything)
of the popularity of Gundam here in the US!
I'm sure one or two people will ask him that: or perhaps everyone who talks
to him.
I don't think the question is "will there be aother Gundam anime?", but
rather, "will there be another -good- Gundam anime?"

Nah, they'll probably ask: "What's the deal with Trowa and Quatre?"

Now, I'd really like to see the old master's reaction to that!

Well, that's _always_ the question isn't it?
It's that this is the first time since the end of VG that I can remember
not having heard even rumors of what series (if any) is coming up next. It's
as if, say, "Star Trek Enterprise" wasn't blatantly in the works while
"Voyager" was slouching to a halt....
I wonder if Bandai really considers the anime franchise to be all
plumbed out? Consider how _little_ merchandise was available for TA!

Rumors from Japanese message boards & anime news sites seem to be centered
around a possible new Gundam series starting this Fall there.
Regardless, I doubt Tomino will be working on it since he's already
directing a new, non-Gundam anime show coming out in July: Overman King
Gainer.

I'm sure there'll be many important questions asked like "Mr. Tomino! Are
Heero and Duo really gay???"
Is that one non-mecha? Just curious.

Tomino really didn't LIKE to have to keep coming back and directing new
Gundam Series for Sunrise, you know... -_-
It' said by many that Cornin Nander from Turn-A represent Tomino's fellings
on Gundam...

Yeah, I'm sure Tomino is dying to hear about fans enthuasim on W, 08th MS Team
and 0083 (Hint: none of these shows are by Tomino) and how 0079 never got a
complete run (Hint: This is the only Gundam he directed which is shown in the
US)!
What's worst, everytime Tomino direct a new Gundam he gets so much flank from
the diehard military Gundam fans because he's stories "aren't military
realistic".
I think it's time everyone give Tomino a break, after 20+ years of writing
Gundam trying to hammer in his social themes into the audience's head people
still only ever get excited because of the mecha, if I'm Tomino, hearing the
word "Gundam" and "new series" together is enough to push me away.

It has mecha in it in some capacity.

fall.
