Hi,

Our honeymoon will begin with 3 nights in Santa Monica. We will
arrive in LA from Australia on 30 Nov. '97 and are looking for a Hotel
that would be appropriate for the start of our honeymoon that has a
shuttle from the airport to the Hotel (and to the various
sights/attractions etc. nearby). We are willing to pay, say $100 -
$125US per night.

What do you recommend?

Also, on departure (bright and early) we wish to travel down to
Anaheim (Disneyland) for two days and stay there also.

How do you suggest we make our way to Anaheim, train?

What are the costs for the various travel methods?

Or, should we travel on the third evening and stay at Anaheim, rather
than in Santa Monica ? (rather than travelling on part of the first
day that would otherwise be spent at Disneyland)

Thanks for your help.

The nicest hotel in Santa Monica is Shutters, but it is quite a bit more
expensive than $100-125. There is a nice small hotel called the Shangra-La
which may fit your price range.

I would rent a car and drive to Disneyland (leave early and spend one long
day there) rather than stay in Anaheim. Anaheim has nothing but Disneyland
and it is not a pretty place. You could stay in Santa Monica and visit
Disneyland one day and Universal Studios another (which is another
amusement part at a movie studio). I would strongly suggest that you rent
a car for your stay as it is next to impossible to get around Los Angeles
without one. (you can rent a car for about $25 dollars/day or may find a
better package deal for 5 days).

Good luck and email back if you have other questions.
