My wife's opinion of the kanji on offer there is "hetakuso!". She
reckoned they looked like they were written by an elementary school
student, and even to my untrained eye, the balance is completely off
in a number of the cards - "kazoku" struck me especially as being
rather wonky.

You got further than I did. I got a message telling me I have to
install "vector rendering" or some such shit in order to view the
site. Sure enough, not a single one of their images showed up for me.
Whatever happened to good old-fashioned jpegs that will display in a
plain-jane browser?
And the "Hi! We're a commercial site and we want you to give us your
photos for free!" come-on doesn't exactly appeal to me either.

I wonder if they could do me a kanji card for "Pork Gristle"

My advice is there are too many "Sushi is not just raw fish - Tokugawa
wasn't a fascist dictator - Don't stand your chopsticks upright in
your rice" sites on the net.
I suggest a trip to your local library/book shop, or take a look at
Jim Breen's Japanese links page if you want to find out anything
useful about these subjects.
