Hush little child Mommy's here
To hold your hands and wash your little face
You needn't fear your Big Brother dear
Mommy Government is on the case

Mommy knows just what you need
You needn't trouble yourself
Mommy approves the schoolbooks you read
And places them on your shelf

Mommy is here from cradle to tomb
And even beyond, sometimes it does appear
Why Mommy even watched over you in the womb
And at school measures you each year

So Mommy knows just how you've grown
And to Mommy all credit is due
Mommy will never leave you alone
Mommy is me, and Mommy is you

That's true. But a crap poet knows how to cut it short and take a bow

>That's not much of an argument.

I want it in a syllogism, the man he said to me
For it is the form which counts and not the content
As any child can plainly see

Yet all the while maintains he a most transparent ruse
The curious English we're to believe heaven-sent
Was born of an electronic Muse

Mike I think you are speaking to a Perl script, a rather short one.

Even Eliza showed more variety in its responses....

Could it be possible that Toshi is an upgrade of a Japanese robot like the
Sony Aibo or the Honda Asimo? It would be the first dog that can type...

That would be a damned shame, since that last reply was the best piece
of doggerel I've come up with yet.

"Contact!" yelped the hapless netpilot, despondent and enraged
"Please hold" replied the tinny voice, "All mechanics are engaged"
Perhaps he pushed the wrong button before the time was right
Crashing his machine WHOMP! to the ground and giving him such a fright
"I failed" said he, "to follow procedure precisely to the letter"
"Calls may be monitored in order to serve you better"

"Contact!" shrieked the 'puter jet jockey, "Put a human on the line!"
"Calls are answered in order received, and this may take some time"
How was it possible to go into a stall while never leaving the ground?
How the hell will he ever find out when no human help can be found?
"Bugger you all! I'm bailing out! The plane is too unsteady!"
"Your call will be answered next. Please have your credit card ready."
