A few hours ago I started my first test game and I'm already heavily
disappointed. The French were about equally strong as me. I wanted to annoy
them, so they would declare war on me. So I demanded all their cities, 2,3
million gold per turn, their resources... from them without returning
anything. They accepted! But it gets worse: The French are totally bankrupt
now, but I still get the 2,3 million gold per turn. Great! So Civ 3 is
another one of those unready delivered games that need 10 patches to run
proper. I think I'll install Alpha Centauri again...

Hey ..I won one game of Alpha Centauri when I asked the Spartans to fight
with me against another faction and they demanded something like -260000
energy credits before they would ally themselves (yep, that's negative
credits . ..from making the deal I got those credits and became
unbelieveably rich and finished the final Transcendence project in one
turn).

This is alpha Centauri WITH the final patch .. still a great game though.

LOL I was about posting a thread on this bug. It is so nasty in fact that it
ruins the game since other civilizations accept to pay you a few million
gold *each turn* when they feel really threatened by your power. Of course,
none of them has the gold to pay you but you will still get the bonus at
each turn :(((

Now I earn 7 million a turn and it is not fun anymore, except perhaps when
other leaders reply me "No problemo. I hope that you'll remember this when
we come to you for a favor" just after being extorted for 2 or 3 million a
turn for twenty turns :)
Firaxis people do you hear us ? The AI needs some serious tweaking.
