Man! That's definitely a shoot-coffee-out-your nose
web site. I needed that. Thanks!

$500/meter for a pair! Excuse me, my sinuses are
full of coffee again just thinking about it.

I have noticed that some sheep are dumber than others. The very
dumbest ones are those who pay $2000 for power cords.

The illustrations make it look like some sort of medieval torture device...

Anyway, I may have to add this line to my sig file or something...

"In fact, after giving them their manufacturer-recommended break-in, I was
stunned to hear what was coming out of my rig. Hyper detail. Hyper
macrodynamics. Microdynamics in spades. Brutally unforgiving. All because of
these two very ordinary looking gray cables. I didn't expect this at all."

Those look like undersea power cables !

I like the reference to one of the photos being "a little blurry". Maybe he
needs a more exotic lense.

It is probably caused by the electrons having much greater mobility in that
special cable. It looks blurry because the atoms are in motion at such great
speed!

If that's what's going on, then they ARE magic cables!

No no! These are the "neutral reference" cables. The other ones allow
greater electron mobility. These cables ensure each electron is in fact a
neutron. I know it's hard to believe, but I read the entire interview. I
gotta get me some of these. Forget the donation to the Boy's Club (or my
retirement account)... it's Cardas cables this year!

I got a kick out of this article, too. In any other industry (well,
maybe nutritional supplements) you would be laughed right out of the
building. But in audio you are a visionary.

I got a laugh out of it, but it made me
sick too. I got to wondering if a class
action lawsuit could get anywhere, based
on the law of fraud. The only difficulty
I see is that those people who fork over
$500 dollars for a short cable that does
the same thing as a 50 cent lamp cord are
probably quite pleased and quite immune
to understanding they have been deceived.

In that sense, maybe the cables ARE worth the money. Sound perception is a
very subjective experience. If these people have duped themselves into
believing that with the addition of these cables, their music is now full of
"hyper detail and hyper macrodynamics", then I suppose they got their
money's worth. Hell, there are entire medical disciplines that engage in
the same sort of mind-over-matter crap. Fraud? Maybe. But I defy you to
find someone that actually BOUGHT these cables to participate in a
class-action suit.

I wonder how incredible the music would sound if the often large recording
chain that the signals went through before being put on CD (or vinyl, or
SACD, or whatever) wasn't composed of real world cable and electronics ?.

Pretty much the same, for minimalist recordings. The major damage is
done by the microphones. For multi-mic recordings that are heavily
produced, the beg changes are in the production steps.

Whenever I add a smiley I'm either joking or being sarcastic. The
sarcastic post's are few and far between .
