Divisions Over Kyoto Set the Scene for Explosive Bonn
by John Vidal

Europe's continuing support for the Kyoto treaty and its renewed intention
to ratify it even without the US was last night being interpreted by
environment analysts and diplomats as a further, but perhaps final,
escalation of the war of words in the run-up to the crucial Bonn meeting in
July.
With neither side prepared to give way without loss of face, it is
increasingly certain that the US will be diplomatically ostracised by the
majority of the world community .........

What's unclear at this point is "Why?" Speculations------
1. The Bush administration must be totally encaptured by the fossil fuel
industry.
2. Interest groups subserviant to anit-enviro political action committees
(evangelical religious extremists) around the White House-having direct
access to policy making have inserted their own agenda into George W.
3. Being an appointed administrator of the Rhenquist majority at the Supreme
Court, perhaps the robed conservatives have some unspoken agenda to they
want their appointee to further.

In addition to subverting major environmental issues on a global
level, the U.S. gov't shall be declared the enemy of a large chunk of
its populace: gay women and men. This will come about as the anti-gay
agenda heats up (under the evil Bush/Cheney/Ashcroft triangle) and
foments a full-blown civil war. Sanctuary will be offered by an
undergound railroad to Holland and other gay-friendly areas.

The rest of the world will declare the U.S. a danger to the health of
the entire planet (pollution, raping of global resources, homophobia,
severe class inequities, racism, slave prison labor and abuse, etc.).
Amerika will be divided by the armed forces of the rest of the world,
similar to Germany at the end of WWII. One section will be handed over
to gays, that they may form their own nation.

Yes, I'm afraid Amerika has had its day in the sun, and has betrayed
its loftiest ideals for democracy, equality for all, and a safer,
saner world. Good riddance!
