Hehe what can I say... After my IBM started to make a strange noise I
simply moved the whole OS with a simple dd if=/dev/hdc of=/dev/hdh to
another drive... isnt that how computers should always work!
The IBM drive will go back to IBM next week...

Btw. a few days ago I dug heavily into Linux games and there are a few real
gems betwenn them (besides Exult and TuxRacer)

lbreakout2 is the best breakout Ive ever played.
And with Adonthell there is a kickass new 2d RPG Engine in the works
FreeCiv is also great

Not to mention Nethack, *Angband, *sokoban, Pingus and a couple of other
games I can't remember right now.

Hey, all the old BSD games were classics. Pity RedHat doesn't package
them in the distro anymore (they got demoted to PowerTools ~ RH 7.1, now
PowerTools is no more..)

Flight Gear, Armagetron, bzflag, Chromium, PrBoom, Maelstrom... :-)

'punt (oddly enough having just installed Adonthell 0.3.2 + wastesedge
a couple of hours ago. Looks good!)

Paranoia disappeared early on, after 5.0 I think. I was well pissed,
Fortunately I can install it from my OpenLinux CDs and it works through
the compatability libraries. Or it did.. I'll have to make sure.
But I could never find the source for Paranoia.. any ideas?

It is an amusing diversion, and it does look nice-ish. The resolution
is low, and it has the yucky shallow perspective thing that looks silly
(to my eyes). But it's a lot easier to draw people that way :-)

The other issue is that Waste's edge is very short (it's approximately
as long as Trinsic in U7). But it is much more coherent and focussed
that my efforts. If I put all my effort into making one part of the
False Messiah story, there would be some kind of demo by now ;-)

From the depths of Usenet there came a cry:

Has anyone figured out how to run the thing in full screen. It really is
no fun to run the thing in a 320x200 window under a 1240x1028 resolution.
Anyway the whole thing looks very promising, this will be an amazing engine
in one or two years for fan made projects...
