I thought all you phony pacifists out there would benefit from reading the
following editorial in this week's Washington Blade
(http://www.washblade.com/):

Afghan 'victims' would gladly slit our throats

To the Editor:

It's amazing that just a few weeks after the Sept. 11 mass murder that out
from under a rock comes someone named Paula C. Austin, executive director
of a gay youth group in North Carolina, to write a letter to the editor
with so many unspeakable lies about this country's response to the attack.
("Gays shouldn't back racist war," letters, Sept. 28).

Her charge that we are about to engage in a "racist" war by going after a
mass murderer is just plain weird. The effort to get Osama bin Laden and
his network is the most moral, ethical action our government could take.

It is, of course, not directed at Arabs or Muslims but at a bunch of mass
murderers, all of whom would gladly slit the throat of a self-proclaimed
"queer" like Ms. Austin, which makes her comments all the more bizarre.
President Bush and other leaders have bent over backwards to make a
distinction between the perpetrators of this crime and Muslims in general.

All civilized people who believe in the Western values of freedom and
democracy must shun and ostracize those who excuse terrorism, whether it be
members of the Taliban or home-grown sympathizers like Austin.

While I would certainly not be included among the aforementioned "phony pacifists,"
I would point out that rarely in life are there clear-cut boundaries between good
and bad.

What Bin Laden did was wrong and, for that, he will be captured and put on trial
(although the absence of any talk of the death penalty proves the political nature
of the death penalty).

But as justified as we are in seeking justice against Bin Laden and those who would
shield him, we must realize just as quickly that it was American foreign
policy--that great myopic institution--that helped give him the power (mostly
through his following) to carry out the 09/11 attack. It was the Treaty of
Versailles that created a region of the world dedicated to a steady supply of
imported oil for the United States. That is why there are very rich, very small
countries like Kuwait and UAE sitting next to very large, very poor countries like
Iraq and Afghanistan

We have the power of hindsight; if we don't use it to correct our misdeeds--even as
we seek justice--we are no better than those who would attack us.

It's a good thing I check my trash folder every so often, else I would have
missed this little bit of nonsense:

>What Bin Laden did was wrong and, for that, he will be captured and put on
>trial

And to that I say no, no, and again, no.

Bin Laden and his company must not be "captured and put on trial." Their
feet must not be permitted to touch American soil. One does not put vermin
on trial, here, there, or anywhere. I'd as soon put the mice that make
their way into my home each winter on trial.

No, what I do is kill them, when I can, where they are, using any (humane)
means available to me. For Bin Laden, we might omit the humane.

All this talk of trials and due process is utter absurdity. Terrorists are
not so much criminals, in the sense that implies of being members, however
wayward, of a culture. They are enemies of culture, of civilization, and
of humanity. They merit neither "justice," nor due process, both of which
are human expectations.

There is only one thing to do, and that is to kill them where they are.

And this further dreck about the acts of terrorists being attributable to
American foreign or energy consumption policy is beneath comment. I'm sure
it sells in leftist ghettos (how many of you are there left? 8?), but
thankfully not even serious liberal commentators have had the temerity to
give such a ridiculous sentiment voice.

How absurd! Our gov't is just as liable to bash us gays, as the
Taliban...or any other Afghan government for that matter. We LGBT's
have accommodated our lives under the terrorist regime known as
Amerika.

So we have TWO homophobic terrorists who threaten our very existence:
Osama bin Laden, and George W. Bush...and by extension, their
correlating governments.

Your braggadocio is unimpressive, like a rooster crowing from atop its
own dung heap.

Meanwhile, we need to prepare ourselves from the oncoming anti-gay
holocaust likely to start before this year is out. Thanks to our fine,
upstanding Amerikan gov't that calls all its enemies "faggots".

Hey, remind me again, what are we defending over there? I thought the
right of dissent was one of the biggies.

Anyway, while the writer obviously memoriezed her PC talking points, you
seem to have memorized your RNC points too.

Personally I'm not turning in my brain just yet; this whole thing seems
just a little too pat and a little too convenient, it dovetails too neatly
into plans that the political right had in place years before 9/11/01. I
don't like coincidences.--
