It seems time to attempt another afpmeet in Seattle. It's all
Gillie's fault, really - she's visiting Portland, and offered to head
up to Seattle to get together. (She's also said: "You might mention
that if people want to come from Portland I might be able to get a
car.")
We'll be meeting at Cafe Minnie's (411 Broadway E.), at around 6:30
p.m. on Saturday, September 13th. I suspect that Gillie and I will be
there early, to secure a table or two; _please_ email me at
gli...@eskimo.com if you'll be attending, as I'll need to notify the
restaurant if there are very many of us.
Cafe Minnie's is a 24-hour restaurant/bar with a fairly wide-ranging
menu, lots of breakfast-type things, also Italian food, and yes, they
do serve alcohol. I've liked it the few times I've been there. Even
more important, it's within walking distance of a wonderful
bookstore, complete with cats, that's open until 2 a.m.
Um, what else? Directions:
I have no clue at all about local bus service (other than the fact
that I can't get to where I work from where I live, but that's
another rant entirely).
If you're heading in from out of town by bus or train, let me know
ahead of time and I'll meet you (or find someone else who will)!
(again, email address: gli...@eskimo.com)
If you're driving:
Northbound: From I-5, take the Olive Street exit, heading east. Go
up the hill (Olive will become John Street). When you get to
Broadway, turn left (north); I'm not sure how many blocks it is.
Southbound: From I-5, take the Boylston St. exit. Turn left at the
first light, and right at the second light, onto 10th. Follow this
until it becomes Broadway, and you're there.
Finding parking places on the street is, well, a bitch; I usually wimp
out and use the pay-lot right across the street.
--glinda, if this is completely incoherent, blame the migraine,
please?
--
I'm sure if I try _really hard_ I can count as a small throng all by myself..
