When I launch IE6 it doesn't take me to my homepage. Instead it shows the
following message:

Action canceled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page
might be temporarily unavailable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Please try the following:
Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

If you have visited this page previously and you want to view what has been
stored on your computer, click File, and then click Work Offline.

For information about offline browsing with Internet Explorer, click the
Help menu, and then click Contents and Index.

When I hit reload, it sends me to my page. Also, when I click on a link that
opens a new window, it just opens a window and I have to hit reload in order
to show that page. Anyone have a solution to this?

The next time it happens, go to the file menu and see if 'work offline' is turned on. If it is, follow the advice below:

Internet Explorer Starts in Offline Mode and Remains Offline

Nope. It's not turned on. Any other suggestions?

Try increasing IE's timeout.

Here's an article on timeout in IE 4...
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q181/0/50.ASP

The answer will work for IE5 as well.

I'm still having no luck with the problem. It doesn't seem to happen when I
use IE5.5. Is there anything different on how they handle homepages?

It seems to be fixed with this new release (2479). Thanks for trying to help
me earlier.
