I have been informed by the bookshop, Borders on Briggate, that after the
signing there will be a Discworld quiz in the cafe where the meet is to
start. Prizes are Clarecraft figures donated by a local shop. Some of the
staff are also preparing food using recipes from the cookbook for those
attending.

It seems they have decided to make this a big event so bring your brains and
pencils and your appetites with you.

Wahey..... I just have! And came away with a Ł15 gift voucher!
I also dropped in on the afpmeet for about 5 minutes- gosh that bitter
chocolate was.. erm.. interesting.... I could still taste it half an
hour later! Thanks to a bunch of lovely people!
Many thanks due also to Pterry himself, Stephen Briggs, Tina Hannan
(and Nanny Ogg) who signed books for nearly four hours for a queueueue
which stretched all the way through the shop and right out into the
street.

I will not mention the grand total of the prizes the official afpmeet
did(n't) win. Borders did a good job, I thought, even though they
seriously underestimated the length of time the signing would
take. It was my first signing and my first afpmeet, and I'd like to
thank everyone there for making it so much fun. Thanks especially
to Pam for the hospitality back at her house when she'd been busy
signing all day, and to Richard for putting up with us. Oh, and to
Cookie for bringing along his tool and showing us his special
attachments <g>.

Even though the questions were taken straight out of the Unseen
University Challenge, which is probably the reason why I and my friend
Joe got 28 and 29/30.
