So is she a lesbian?

I'm as guilty of participating in off-topic thread drift as anyone, but
you know, it's a bit unfair for people to post off subject articles
pushing their own political agendas, and then there can't even be counter
opinions expressed because other people start complaining about the
on-going off-topic discussion, as was just evidenced on another subject.

Actually, in Texas, sodomy is a Class C misdemeanor
punishable by a fine. This Texas case is very
important in that regard.

As a way to make DNA databases a gay issue it seemed a bit of a reach.
In fact, it was reaching to make DNA databases an issue as it was.
The original post has no mention of gays at all -- if the subject is
actually relevant to us perhaps the poster should attempt to make that
case rather than just passing on other people's words that aren't
addressed to gay issues at all. If we're going to talk about topical
non-gay issues, let's at least hear the thoughts of contributors to the
list and not those of political pundits.

I posted what some people might think is an
off-topic article about the Kourt of Five ruling
that the 4th amendment is not violated when a cop
arrests someone for a violation that is only
punished by a fine.
I felt this was a pertinent article because I
thought Gaynet was about, in part, the gaining
and discussion of full civil rights for LGBTs.
If the civil rights of straights are going to be
subject to abuse as a result of this benighted
ruling, don't you think that the rights of GLBTs
are going to be further degraded.

True enough. But when a person quotes a lenghty article on an issue
that is not directly gay-pertinent, it would help to tie it in with how it
impacts us gays, by adding your own explanatory preface. It *is an
invasion of privacy to a grievous extent...and I agree that this would then
impact us gays even worse, in the long run.

I understand that now in Virginia, one may be charged with sodomy for
almost ANY expression of physical affection between two adults of the
same sex. So what' s to stop an officer of the law for claiming he saw
those two men (or women) in a car holding hands...if he desires to
harass them?
