I've read that page, and am disappointed that there is no mention of
the potential for an anti-gay holocaust. After all, gays are already
the target of much hatred...so of course we (gays) will be the first
attacked. Ergo, the holocaust against gays has already begun...and I
believe it began several years back, once Pres. Clinton signed DOMA
(the Defense Of Marriage Act).
That page claims "religion" is the main issue...that all alternative
religions are at great risk, should Bush win the election. That is all
quite true...but the author's failure to mention gay people as the
primary target *before attacking alternative religions and groups only
adds to the terrible threat against Amerikan homosexuals.
You see, if society allows our leaders to persecute gay people, then
they will next attack other minorites, such as "witches". But if
society stands up against gay hatred, then we are also protecting
everyone else as a result.
Seems like every non-gay, alternative group is up in arms over Bush,
worrying for their own skins...but not giving a hoot about those who
have been attacked first: gay people. So easy to forget that most
inspirers and leaders of Wiccan and pagan history were (and are)
homosexual men and women.
Read between the lines: "Oh, the faggots? No one wants 'em, so it's
quite alright by me, that they get exterminated...but don't mess with
us [wiccans/pagans/Jews/gypsies/etc.]".
Even if you *do the right thing in this election, and vote for Al
Gore...if it is just out of concern for your own (Wiccan/pagan) skin,
and not one good wish for gay people--you will be condemned for what
is in your heart (or more precisely: for what is *not there). The
Christian fundamentalists are not the only ones that harbor great
hatred towards gays. Don't fool yourself!
