Hi folks,

Through a variety of odd circumstances, I've found myself with a few
tickets to go and watch the filming of 'Late Lunch' - the new evening
version of Light Lunch - on Tuesday 31st March

Now, quite frankly, I don't know what to do with them, but I thought a
few people might be able make it to the studios, and take part in the
first ever AFP meet to be broadcast on national TV 8)

I know its quite late notice, but if you can make it to

Waterloo Station at 4pm on Tuesday 31st March (thats next tuesday)

and want to be on TV, email me asap - the number of tickets is
limited. I'll reply giving full details!

Reasons you may want to go include
1) Instant fame and adoration by millions as you appear on TV
2) The chance to say to people I've been on psudo-daytime TV
3) The fact that a fair time ago, Terry was on Light Lunch, thus you
can bask in the glory of knowing you have appeared on a TV show which
has attained hi seal of approval 8)
4) They pay you 3ukp to buy your own tea (for eating on the show)
5) I'm sure we can go to the pub afterwards...
6) You get to find out if what Alien said about me, hamsters and Duct
tape is true...

Strangely enough, when I have appeared on TV millions of people have
generally failed to adore me. Is this something that happens only
when one appears on British television?

Haven't been on that particular program - I've appeared on local news
shows, Academic Challenge (high school equivalent of college bowl,
broadcast on local tv in my hometown), No Budget Theatre (public
access comedy show I was part of for a couple years), and Comedy
Central (or whatever it was that Comedy Central was called about 6
years ago, I think they've changed their name - they showed a clip
from the aforementioned comedy show).

Nope, but if you're lucky you get recognised a year or so later.
And yes, I am speaking from experience. Maybe it was cos I was getting
blown up that I stuck in the memory.

*Damn* but I wish I could go to that.
Now I'm going to have to watch yet *another* programme I hadn't
originally planned to see.
Still, at least it won't be as bad as that sci-fi quiz thingie. I had to
watch that for *weeks* before I saw Pterry on it. (And that's my excuse
and I'm sticking to it.)

I can't help thinking that a whole bunch in the studio audience all
carrying hand puppets and waving chocolate coated oddities is going to
have an impact on the feel of the show.

If this comes off like it should, then I vote that Ben be awarded an L-
space address, for 'actions that support and further the cause of afp'.

Look forward to seeing you there!
('See' being the operative word.
I don't think I've ever *wanted* to be in London before!)

Cordially,

It will be the first and last Late Lunch you will _ever_ need to
watch.

Based on my limited experience of having been on TV, half the seven
year olds in the playground saw you, and are in awe of your WAC-PAC,
the other half don't believe you were ever on.

But of course, if you are seen on TV with the other incredably
beautiful, witty and charming AFPers, not only will you gain respect,
odds are you will also find strangers coming up to you and giving you
flowers.[1]

[1] While this is almost certainly true (for small values of witty,
charming and beautiful) no promises are being made

Sorry. I was trying to save energy
by not typing your full name.

What I meant to say is
"When were you on (TV), Pope Jeremy I?"

Me and my bright ideas!

I think it was just as much the fact that I tend to forget what name
I'm using when I'm on newsgroups. I suppose I *could* use my real
one, but where's the fun in that?

Does this mean that I'm not allowed to mention the word 'Blockbusters'?

Those who do may well find themselves being forced to watch the video.
Those who sing the theme may find themselves being forced to wear the
fabled "Hooded Sweatshirt of Power" for the whole of the evening.

I can say that it was the most terrifying 20 minutes of my life.
Well, I say that, presumably being born was pretty terrifying but I
can't remember, probably post traumatic stress or something.

Did you know that Bob Holnes was the first James Bond? - It's true!
