Also, just from looking at the stats, a couple of things intrigued me and
I was wondering if someone could fill me in. Steve Traschel--his stats look
impressive. I can't wait to see him pitch. What kind of stuff does he have,
and is he for real? Is Rhodes the regular lead-off man? How does Zambrano
look and how could we fit his bat into the line-up more?
Just watching CNN sports the other day, I was struck by the incredible seasons
some ex-Cubbies are having. Joe Carter set the all-time major league record
for RBI's in April with 30, and he has three games still left, I think.
Lee Smith had 10 saves in 10 chances when I last checked, the quickest that
any player has reached that amount of saves. Greg Maddux is 4-1 and his
ERA is 0.88 or something insane like that. At least the Cubs are generous
enough to promote general league excellence.
