All I am going to post on this is: Trucking is not going to be Heaven when
starting out new.

Werner?....I knew they filed against Prime...I did'nt even know that
Werner was involved....hhhhmmm...learn something new everyday...

Take it from someone who knows the transportation industry fairly well from
both the railroading and trucking viewpoints, Werner is very much like many of
the larger firms, and whether the posters here agree or not, their employment
package is very competitive, among their peers.
When starting out new, he needs to remember NOT to be influenced by other
drivers, who will ALWAYS offer an opinion on how he should handle everything
from his dispatcher, to an A$$hole receiving manager, to his every encounter
with all forms of law enforcement, (fewer with a company truck). He needs to
remember that those offering advice have absolutely NO JEOPARDY in anything
they offer. If he is willing to do everything he can do to run legally, and
make his employer look good to the customer, he can still make a decent living,
and even though it's anything BUT easy, his efforts to do a decent job will not
go unnoticed. Clarence Werner and his boys definately know the trucking
industry and try to treat their employees with respect and a decent wage and
benefit package. He has chosen one of the best companies to start his driving
career with, if he'll just stick with it, the rewards will come with time. I
know one driver who has been with them since the beginning, and they take very
good care of him, but he doesn't get any special treatment as far as loads or
destinations, or anything else.
Good Luck and God Bless,

Just don`t fall for their "Lease-Purchase" scam...
OOIDA has a class action suit against them now as a result of unfair leasing
practices...

She'd make more money being a lumper or collecting cans from the side of
the road. Those sorry Dollar General loads were the prime reason I avoided
Werner. I wanted to drive their trucks not unload their trailers. No
warehouse worker is going to drive you and your truck to your backhaul or
send you their paycheck when you wreck your back doing their job and need a
few weeks to heal. Why would any driver tolerate unloading trailers
regularly? As a driver you are likely to have a head start on back
problems, get little regular exercise, and run a serious risk of injury
several states away from home when you start unloading trailers. No
thanks, if I wanted to work for a living I wouldn't have gotten my CDL. :-)

I hope you're serious about that!
I cannot for the life of me understand why anybody would take a job

$12.50 an hour? probably more than he makes sitting in traffic
I doubt that was the truth.
