Please keep your diaries free for the Bank Holiday weekend at the
end of May.
Saturday is the 29th May, Monday is a Bank Holiday (useful for 'that
morning after')
There seems to be plenty of interest in my proposal for a 'meet and
a half' over this weekend which is likely to include all or none of
the following:-
A picnic at the park
At least/most one evenings' wailin^^^Wsinging accompanied by
afpmusicians
Three-legged races with the winners receiving fantastic prizes
Wibble-throwing contests [1]
A competition to see who can get the most impressively lost [2]
A bit of geeking, maybe, perhaps
Pratchett recitation by carefully chosen victi^^volunteers
Gratuitous showing-off of Clarecraft (tm) figures - including Death
and Granny Playing Cards
Bouncy Castle (please borrow a child "to show willing")
The opportunity to meet and chat with an OFiaH [3]
Treasure hunts - one for the children, one for the adults [4]
The obligatory raffle of something I no longer require [9]
The BARBECUE of your life.
Oh - and there might be a pub involved too - or is that two ? :-)))
You may wish to join us, for all or some of the weekend. Please mail
me ( M...@djelibeybi.free-online.co.uk ) if you want more info.
We can accommodate up to a half-dozen *close* friends for the
duration [5][7] there's also a Travel Inn "next door" (i.e. within
crawling distance) where I can get discounts [lost count] and where
we'll prolly spend some time because of the children's play area and
not because of the hostelry - not.
[1] Not *real* wibbles, you understand - only replicas.
[2] Sorry, Chris, you're banned from this one :-)
[3] It's pink/peach, I bought it for a wedding :-}
[4] Please remember to register as either an adult OR child on
arrival. It will not be possible to change your designation once
registered.
[5] Please be warned - we have children [6], so anyone who has an
allergy ...!
[6] Who are reported to be quite charming, if you ask those who've
met them
[7] Close to each other IYSWIM, because of the space <g> [8]
[8] Already got this purity point.
[9] (Sorry, feetnotes do that sometimes) I can guarantee this will
not be anything Pratchett related. Possibly an empty orange juice
carton.
[lost count] 32 per night for a family room sleeping four. Works
for me.
As you can probably tell, I'm not completely organised for this yet
but things are gathering speed and it can't *not* happen. It's an
excellent reason to try out "the meet experience" for the first time
with no commitments.
Be there or be in Tulsa within 24 hours.
- - MEG & G!G (and then there were two)
