are B&M coasters manufactured and assembled first in Switzerland then
shipped where they will operate? or, are they designed then built to spec
near the final site, then assembled and by luck work as envisioned? does
anybody know the answer to this stuff?

B&M coaster track for US destinations is fabricated in Ohio (I can't
remember the name of the company). But as far as I know, the trains come
from Switzerland. However, I think it's Giovanola that manufactures the
trains, not B&M themselves. B&M is strictly an engineering firm and not
a manufacturer. The manufacturing is handled by other companies.

I do not believe so. I believe Claude Mabillard is the person that builds the
trains with his employee's. Walter does the desining of track layout, trains,
brakes, ect. I think this is right ;)

try again randy. Train fabrication is done by Giovanola, the company rumored in
the big hyper coaster deals of late. . .Giovanola also fabricates all track for
coasters but outside of the United States.

They are designed in Switzerland, then the parts are fabricated by one of
the fabricators B&M contracts with. Then the parts are delivered to the
site (hopefully not by the trucking firm that Universal used for
IOA...while driving through Kissimmee last fall, I spotted several trucks
loaded with B&M track driving *away from* the IOA site...odd means for
promotion if you ask me...) and assembled and by DESIGN work as
envisioned. Most of the time; there are occasionally screw-ups...rumor
has it that one of Mantis' track sections was mismanufactured and had to
be re-built, for instance...

Umm, Giovanola DID NOT fab. Riddler or Batman' track and/or supports. NY Steel
did Batman.
